About Me
Homa Shokri is an Iranian-born director and dramaturg. She holds a master’s degree in directing and a bachelor’s degree in playwriting and dramaturgy. Based in Helsinki, Homa’s work focuses on political performance, exploring themes of violence, oppression, and the uninhabitability of bodies.
Her projects examine the impact of neoliberal governance, capitalism on bodily movements, telling the stories of marginalized individuals resisting oppressive regimes. Survival is a core theme in her work, approached from various political perspectives. Her projects aim to transform audiences from passive observers into active participants, creating immersive theatrical experiences.
